Brownies & Guides

Brownies & Guides

Guides are aged 10-14 years
Being a Guide is all about learning new skills, making new friends and helping others. Guides have an exciting and varied programme designed to inspire and challenge girls. 1st Darnhall Guides meet every Monday during school term time from 7.30pm-8pm at Darnhall Village hall. Guides work towards badges to sew on their camp blanket ready to take around the campfire on Guide camp. There are a wide range of badges but what we do is up to you. You will choose from different badges and awards which will help you learn new skills and try new challenges. One of the badges the Guides chose to do last term was the Unicorn badge which they thoroughly enjoyed! We also achieved the Animal active badge, which involved a bring your pet to Guides evening!

The Guide programme is simply what you’ll do as a Guide – from taking part in lots of exciting activities at regular meetings, to special events and trips away. The highlight of our programme this year is going to Chamboree 2018, which is a week-long international Scout and Guide camp held at the Cheshire show ground. There will be over 5,000 Guides and Scouts camping together and taking part in an exciting week-long programme of adventurous activities. This is one of the most exciting camping trips as a Guide.

Guides is the most adventurous thing… it gives you the opportunity to meet people and see things you wouldn’t normally see, and it’s just an amazing experience. – Bryony, Guide
