Craft and Produce competition 2018 report

Here we are once again at the other side of a very successful Darnhall Show which has been enjoyed by many people. The field has now been litter picked, marquees  and gazebos etc packed away for next year – the only disappointment for me was the lack of entries into our competitions! They are open to everyone to take part in, you do not have to live in Darnhall or be a member of W.I.to take part – we like to think we encourage everyone to have a go and aim the schedule to suit all levels of talent be it beginner or more experienced! The bakery and preserves sections are open to all genders ‘to have a go’ and this year we had a gentleman take first place in the Victoria Sandwich cake class so well done to him! You never know what you can do until you try! We are hoping to have next year’s schedule on our website by end of February for you to plan your entry in plenty of time. Should you be disappointed in our selection of items for the schedule we are open to suggestions and would welcome any input to make it more interesting so do let us know your thoughts before we do the schedule.
We run the competitions in a’ light hearted’ fashion so please do not be afraid that your entry will be harshly judged and next year it could be you walking away with a certificate and rosette for your entry so come on have a go and you may unlock a talent you didn’t know you had!
